This morning famous Russian barque STS Sedov has finished trip in the port of Svetliy, Kaliningrad region.
Here STS Sedov will spend winter and spring seasons before the ship will set sail for new trips. It is expected that Sedov will sail through the Northern Sea Route from Murmansk to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
From this port Sedov had started navigation in March 2015. The ship took part in the memorable historical expedition in commemoration of polar convoys during the Second World War. The voyage was devoted to the 70th anniversary of the Victory day in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War. The first 2015's trip of Sedov was organized from Kaliningrad to Murmansk and backway.
Totally there were three voyages in 2015. Sailing training ship Sedov visited German, Danish, Norwegian, Spanish, Italian, Dutch ports.
278 cadets of Murmansk state technical university, Kerch state maritime technological university, Arkhangelsk maritime fisheries college and 11 pupils of Nizhny Novgorod maritime club trained on board of Sedov.
After long voyages of the current year sailing training ship Sedov should be repaired.
